ARTmania Festival 2021 postponed for 2022

June 15, 2021

Dear friends,

Thank you for your patience and for being with us in these volatile times. We have been a bit silent as we were constantly talking with the artists and modifying plans, watching the international landscape changing permanently and waiting for the arrival of the promised legal predictability which would have allowed us to offer you the international edition you deserve.

Until recently, we truly believed that we’ll be able to have an edition with at least some of the announced artists, in spite of the difficult context. Unfortunately, the postponement of band tours, the constantly changing list of quarantined countries, the fact that we are restricted to 2,500 participants in our festival space (a number lower than that of festival passes already sold) and the current Romanian legal pandemic restrictions make it impossible for us to host the 2021 edition in the announced form.  Also, it is impossible to be 100% certain that the future pandemic context would allow us to bring you the announced international line-up in the following months.

That is why, with great sadness, we are forced to announce that ARTmania Festival will be postponed for 2022, during 22nd – 24th of July.

Regarding the line-up, we can officially state that, for the 2022 edition, we have already managed to confirm with My Dying Bride, Testament and, as a new addition, with The Pineapple Thief!

The well-known „The Pineapple Thief” project is the brainchild of the British artist Bruce Soord, a project that from its very beginning succeeded in having a loyal fan-base and attracted the attention of various record labels. Their music has sometimes been compared with that of Radiohead or Porcupine Tree, but The Pineapple Thief mixes acoustic sounds with theatrical rock and neo-psychedelia. It has managed to build a bridge between prog, indie rock and sophisticated pop and has extended its componence with members like the highly acclaimed drummer Gavin Richard Harrison, known for playing with the progressive legends Porcupine Tree and King Crimson.

Regarding the rest of the 2021’s artists, we are in close contact with them and with other exciting names. The full line-up will be announced at a later date, as this pandemic still unfortunately messes up with tour and concert schedules at international level.

Regarding the tickets, all tickets bought for ARTmania Festival 2020 & 2021 will be valid for ARTmania Festival 2022.

ARTmania Festival 2022 tickets:

Those who didn’t manage to buy a festival pass, but would like to be with us at the 2022 edition to enjoy our favourite artists and meet again with the much missed festival friends, can get their 2022 ticket for 290 lei + taxes, which will be available for purchase until the next announcement of 2022 artists, from www.artmaniafestival.ro

Refund:

Though we are finding ourselves in an even tighter spot, as a result of passing through the 2nd pandemic year with interdictions and without help from the authorities, our credo that “we are in this together”, for better and for worse, still stands. As hard as it is for us, we are aware that some of you may also find themselves in a difficult situation.

That is why, though we will truly appreciate the essential help offered by those of you who kept and will continue to keep your ticket for ARTmania Festival 2022, we will offer refunds to the ticket holders who are also in financial difficulties and need the reimbursement. Refunds requests were possible until July 15th 2021.

We will be able to refund the ticket until 31st of December 2021.

NEW EVENT IN THE 23RD-25TH OF JULY 2021 WEEKEND:

As we cannot let another year completely pass without meeting with you, guys, in a concert/ festival like atmosphere, in the weekend initially reserved for our ARTmania Festival, we will organize a new event adapted to the current restrictions.

This new event, entitled “ARTmania Evenings”, will take place in Bucharest and will be dedicated to celebrating our local artists, together with the Romanian bands (a-z): Am Fost La Munte Si Mi-a Placut, Dirty Shirt, Implant pentru Refuz, Lucifer – A Rock Opera, RoadkillSoda, Taine and White Walls.

We know that nothing can beat human closeness and the need for togetherness, especially in these trying times. And we know that live concerts and safely enjoying a festival like atmosphere with friends will help us all regain a bit of hope.

Full info regarding this new event will be announced soon, as we are working on establishing the final details.

Though we hoped for a different, better year, the existence of this 15 year old festival – the oldest Romanian rock festival – depends also on your support. For now, you can help us by keeping your ticket for next year’s edition and with honouring us with your presence at “ARTmania Evenings”.

Stay safe and stay tuned for more details soon!

Yours truly,

The ARTmania Team
