ARTmania Festival Supports Emerging Talent in Rock, Metal, Alternative, and Progressive Music

October 5, 2023

ARTmania Festival, one of Romania’s most prestigious music and art events, is celebrating its 16th edition this year and continues to reaffirm its strong commitment to supporting promising artists in the fields of rock, metal, alternative, and progressive music. Through an open competition held on social media platforms, any budding band within these musical genres has the opportunity to showcase their talent.

In the competition, five promising bands will be selected based on public votes on social media platforms to participate in an exceptional Showcase scheduled for October 19, 2023, at Club Quantic in Bucharest.

The showcase is part of the “CLOSING 2023 – ARTmania Festival” which is a component of the “Musical Bridges Through Cultural Entrepreneurship” project initiated by ARTmania Events in collaboration with Midgardsblot Metal Festival and Inferno Metal Festival & Music Conference.

From these five finalist bands, one will be chosen with the assistance of public votes and a panel of experts from the music industry. This winning band will have the honor of performing on the ARTmania Festival 2024 stage. This significant step contributes to the promotion of new talents in the music industry and provides a platform for them to gain recognition on the festival stage.

ARTmania Festival has always been dedicated to promoting and supporting talented Romanian bands in the genres of rock, metal, alternative, and progressive music. Through this competition, we aim to discover and encourage the new voices and talents that will shape the future of these music genres in Romania,” stated Codruța Vulcu, the festival’s director.

The event offers the audience the opportunity to enjoy live performances by these emerging bands and to participate in the selection of the winning band, which will become part of the impressive lineup of ARTmania Festival 2024.

ARTmania Festival, the first Romanian festival that developed the idea of combining art and entertainment in Romania, is a platform dedicated to promoting all forms of artistic expression inspired by rock culture.

Since 2006, ARTmania has established itself as the main regional promoter of contemporary music projects. Music is the core component, but it is only a part of the experience that ARTmania Festival wanted to offer to art lovers from Romania and abroad. From the very beginning, ARTmania was conceived as a cultural platform to offer the public various events and ways to experience different forms of artistic expression, such as concerts, exhibitions, book launches and film screenings.

As the longest-running rock festival in Romania and one of the brands with the longest tradition on the regional cultural scene, ARTmania has shaped its own identity through a bold concept and a special environment: the Great Square of one of the most beautiful medieval fortresses in Eastern Europe.

ARTmania is constantly exploring new directions, building on the experience of previous editions where many important artists have performed. Among them are Steven Wilson, Peter Hammill, Serj Tankian, Devin Townsend, Dream Theater, Opeth, Die Toten Hosen, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Apocalyptica, HIM, The Gathering, The Sisters of Mercy, Anathema, Apocalyptica, Lacuna Coil, Helloween, Lacrimosa, Poets of the Fall and Deine Lakaien.
