July 27, 2023
    • Continuing partnerships with the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation and Act for Tomorrow.
    • Continuing to support the efforts of Music Saves Ukraine in supporting the Ukrainian community.

ARTmania, Romania’s longest-running and most significant rock culture festival, together with Kaufland Romania, continues its partnership with Hope and Homes for Children to support vulnerable children under the care of the Foundation.

Between July 28 and July 30, the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation will be present again in Sibiu’s Piața Mare, delighting festival-goers of all ages with various activities. In addition to face painting and festival-specific products, the wheel of fortune awaits participants with many prizes and surprises. Additionally, the video booth will allow visitors to capture their memories over the three days between 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

Moreover, the VR version of the game “Air Guitar” will generate excitement among participants, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills and have fun with friends by experiencing music in an entirely new way through a truly immersive experience.

Those who wish to support the Foundation’s projects can do so by donating at the organization’s stand, with its objective being to build family homes for institutionalized children and support those in vulnerable families.

Importantly, fans of the performing bands can find signed items at the Hope and Homes for Children space! This way, they can support talented children in music who need help to further develop their talents.

Efforts to support artists and professionals in the creative sectors in Ukraine continue, and the Ukrainian Association of Music Events (UAME) welcomes all interested individuals at their stand to get involved in the Music Saves UA campaign or learn more information.

ARTmania Festival continues its collaboration with UAME and encourages those willing to offer support to visit their stand for more details about the fundraising campaign “Music Saves Ukraine,” the current situation in the region, and how to get involved.

Furthermore, in exchange for a donation, visitors can receive unique merchandise products (from jewelry to t-shirts, pins, or socks) or enjoy festival makeup, glitter makeup specially designed to immerse them even more in the ARTmania atmosphere.

Music Saves UA is a fundraising initiative launched by the Ukrainian Association of Music Events (UAME) to provide immediate humanitarian aid to those in Ukraine who need it most, harnessing the power of music, unity, and empathy. In addition to the much-needed fundraising activities, the association carries out awareness campaigns regarding the war in Ukraine, simultaneously promoting the country’s music and culture.

Since its first edition, ARTmania has focused on developing a sustainable festival, responsible resource consumption, and reducing its carbon footprint. To maintain this direction, ARTmania continues its partnership with Act For Tomorrow to manage waste responsibly and in an eco-friendly manner during the festival.

Act For Tomorrow will install collection points at the festival and speak to the audience about ways to care for the environment and resources, encouraging separate waste collection. The most conscientious festival-goers will have the chance to participate in a special game prepared by the association and have the opportunity to be among the lucky winners of “smart” prizes.

Participants who visit the two dedicated points to deposit separately collected items will have the chance to win mugs, reusable water containers, or portable speakers made from eco-friendly materials to keep the music close to them at all times.

Act For Tomorrow is an environmental, volunteering, and sustainability association whose mission is to promote a culture of civic and social responsibility among citizens to support efforts in improving the quality of life sustainably without jeopardizing resources for future generations. The association develops a variety of programs and projects ranging from ecological education to collection and recycling programs, volunteering, water protection, afforestation, and community development.

“ARTmania is more than a community passionate about art, beauty, and quality music. It is a community built around essential human values and behaviors: supporting younger generations, supporting those in difficult situations or conflict zones, taking a strong stand against any forms of war, aggression, or abuse. It is a community concerned with protecting the planet and natural resources to ensure a better future for future generations.

We strongly believe that only by uniting, remaining supportive, and respectful of everything around us while promoting values, quality, and culture can we genuinely ensure a sustainable future and a better world for each one of us,” said Codruța Vulcu, founder and director of ARTmania Festival.

ARTmania Festival takes place between July 28 and July 30 in Sibiu, with the lineup including: Porcupine Tree, Wardruna, Emperor, Samael, TesseracT, Pain of Salvation, Haken, Sirenia, Port Noir, Vulture Industries, We Are Numbers, Asemic, RoadkillSoda, and KOIKOI.

ARTmania Festival, the first Romanian festival that developed the idea of combining art and entertainment in Romania, is a platform dedicated to promoting all forms of artistic expression inspired by rock culture.

Since 2006, ARTmania has established itself as the main regional promoter of contemporary music projects. Music is the core component, but it is only a part of the experience that ARTmania Festival wanted to offer to art lovers from Romania and abroad. From the very beginning, ARTmania was conceived as a cultural platform to offer the public various events and ways to experience different forms of artistic expression, such as concerts, exhibitions, book launches and film screenings.

As the longest-running rock festival in Romania and one of the brands with the longest tradition on the regional cultural scene, ARTmania has shaped its own identity through a bold concept and a special environment: the Great Square of one of the most beautiful medieval fortresses in Eastern Europe.

ARTmania is constantly exploring new directions, building on the experience of previous editions where many important artists have performed. Among them are Steven Wilson, Peter Hammill, Serj Tankian, Devin Townsend, Dream Theater, Opeth, Die Toten Hosen, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Apocalyptica, HIM, The Gathering, The Sisters of Mercy, Anathema, Apocalyptica, Lacuna Coil, Helloween, Lacrimosa, Poets of the Fall and Deine Lakaien.
