What surprises were prepared by the organizers for this edition’s festival goers?

On the occasion of this 15th anniversary edition, the event will offer fans an extra day of concerts, alternative events and fun!

Also, to thank the fans who were with them during the two difficult years of the pandemic, the organizers have outlined a great line-up which brings together big names of international and local industry, some of them coming for the first time in Romania.

Mercyful Fate, Transatlantic, The Pinneaple Thief and The Vintage Caravan are among the bands that will offer shows for the first time in our country. The line-up of the festival is completed by a series of well-known names that no longer need presentations, such as Meshuggah, Testament, Cult of Luna, Leprous, Stoned Jesus, Alternosfera, Bucovina, Dordeduh and Taine.

An interesting aspect to mention is that Stoned Jesus, a well-known Ukrainian psych rock trio, comes to ARTmania following the launch of the ARTery project (artery.community) by the festival organizers, in partnership with Music Export Ukraine and Pohoda Festival (Slovakia) – a pan-European platform designed to help Ukrainian creatives find jobs in Europe. ARTery is a creative movement whose main purpose is to support artists and professionals in the creative sectors who have been forced to leave war zones and to support them in their efforts to continue their lives with dignity in the countries that host them.

Returning to the activities prepared for this year’s edition, in addition to the concerts on the main stage, during the day the festival-goers will have to choose from a variety of alternative events accessible based on the festival bracelet. From seminars to reading sessions or book launches, to film and documentary screenings, exhibitions or museum visits. And the walks through the medieval squares in the center of Sibiu and the terraces in the area will turn people’s stay into a memorable one.

For those less familiar with ARTmania, we mention that the ARTmania festival is the longest-running profile event in Romania, being one of the pioneers and promoters of such events in our country, especially for rock and contemporary music.

Established in 2006, out of the need to create a meeting place and exchange of cultural experiences between music enthusiasts and artists, ARTmania was conceived as a platform dedicated to all forms of manifestation inspired by rock culture. Since then, every year, at the end of July, music and arts enthusiasts come to the ARTmania festival, to participate in a weekend of concerts, parties, exhibitions and good cheer.
