Midgardsblot invites you on a musical journey back to ancient times
with our own Viking skald Benny Braathen and his band Folket Bortafor Nordavinden.
Benny Braaten has been working with and studying ancient music for almost 20 years, the main interest being music as a ritualistic and social co -player in everyday life, but also to spread knowledge about and passion for ancient music and music history of the northern hemisphere. Braaten has given entertaining music history lectures in the viking re-enactment scene and Viking museums all over Scandinavia and Iceland.
With drums, throat singing, crazy humour and high energy, Folket Bortafor Nordavinden offer an entertaining and informative glimpse into the distant past – Raise your horns!
FOLKET BORTAFOR NORDAVINDEN will be playing on Freyja’s Weeping stage, on both 29th July and 30th July.
