Exhibition: The Shirt. An elegant Garment

Traditional shirts are stitched stories. The women who made them, whether for themselves or for their loved ones, wanted them to be beautiful, to be seen , admired and protected. A shirt was a tool to declare status through precious fabrics and elegant styles. Every shirt was unique, proudly displaying the heritage of its village of origin and anyone who sewed them, knew what colorful sign to stitch and where to weave meaning into this very precious garment.  The shirt is almost a substitute of the wearer, a story through time one must wear with pride.
